Editing shouldn't be the bottleneck
Filming takes an hour. Editing takes the whole weekend.
You film fast. Then you spend Saturday cutting out filler, hunting for B-roll, fighting with captions, exporting twice because the aspect ratio was wrong. By Monday you've shipped one video. The people who post weekly aren't more talented — they have the right tooling. Now you do too.
How it works
Three steps. Most of them aren't yours.
Drop in your footage
Upload anything — phone takes, screen recordings, podcast files. Auto-transcribed and analysed on the way in.
Tell the Director what you want
“Cut this to 90 seconds, add captions, score it with something cinematic.” That is the entire interface.
Watch it edit, then export
Live preview as it works. Tweak with another sentence, then export MP4, GIF or Premiere XML — rendered in your browser.
Who it's for
Built for the people who'd rather be filming.
Not a power-user editor. Not a one-trick shorts tool. A Director that adapts to your workflow.
For YouTubers
Cut a 45-min raw take into a polished episode without scrubbing the timeline.
For Founders
Turn your loom into a launch video before lunch. No editor on payroll required.
For Podcasters
Pull ten shareable shorts from one episode — captions, hooks and aspect ratios done.
For Marketers
Repurpose every shoot into a week of content. Brand-safe captions, on-brand colour.
Compared
The end of bouncing between tools.
Most "AI editors" do one slice. Shootsta AI Editor is an end-to-end Director — the only chat in the loop is yours.

From the people shipping
Less weekends in the timeline.
I used to spend Saturdays editing the week's videos. Now I describe what I want on the train home and it's done by the time I'm at the station.
Maya Okafor
Solo creator, 280k subs
Our team ships four times the video we did last quarter. Same headcount. Honestly, it's the only AI tool I've kept paying for.
Jordan Reyes
Head of Content, Series B SaaS
I'm a founder, not an editor. I describe the cut, it makes the cut. My investor updates suddenly look like keynote videos.

FAQ
Questions, before you sign in.
Do I need to know how to edit video?
No. If you can describe what you want in a sentence, the AI Director can build it. The timeline is there if you want to nudge things, but most people never touch it.
Will it work with my long-form footage?
Yes. Upload up to 10TB of source media on the standard plan. The Director auto-detects shots, beats and key moments before you say a word.
How is this different from Descript or Opus Clip?
Descript is a transcript-first editor — you still drive the cut. Opus Clip is great for shorts, but only shorts. Shootsta AI Editor is an end-to-end Director that plans, executes and revises any kind of edit through chat.
Where does rendering happen?
In your browser, using WebCodecs. No render queue, no waiting, no uploaded source files leaving your machine for export.
Can I export to Premiere or Final Cut?
Yes — export an XML and continue in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro if you want to finish by hand.
How much does it cost?
$49 USD per month, with up to 10TB of cloud storage. No per-export fees, no rendering credits.
